In a continuous effort to ensure pedestrian and vehicular safety on campus, Cal Poly Pomona University along with Parking & Transportation Services is pleased to implement Phase I of the Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project. Phase I will include the construction of a new entry road leading to the Parking Structure off Kellogg Dr. The intersection of the new entry road and Kellogg Dr. will be signalized. The western portion of Oak Lane, which runs along the southern side of the parking structure, will be closed to vehicle traffic, creating a promenade walk for pedestrians.
The benefits of this project are, greatly reducing the amount of vehicle traffic at Red Gum Lane, providing direct vehicle access to the south entry of the parking structure and to further emphasize pedestrian safety at Oak Lane. The new road is named Palm Dr. and will be lined with palm trees to emphasize the entrance to the parking structure.
