Through a lease agreement between Cal Poly Pomona and Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE), the International Polytechnic High School (I-Poly) will be constructed in the south quadrant of the campus, adjacent to the University athletic fields to the north and Temple Avenue to the south. This project will construct permanent facilities for I-Poly, including associated site-work. The new 52,000 GSF facility will house grades 9-12 in a two-story structure and includes classrooms, science lab, administrative offices, multi-purpose room, outdoor learning spaces and miscellaneous ancillary spaces.
The site for the new facility is approximately two acres and consists of general site improvements with landscape, courtyard, hardscape and reconfigured parking spaces. Planned off-site project improvements will include two new vehicular parking lot entrances, reconfiguration to existing parking lots, creation of a new green space pedestrian connection to the University and athletic facilities.
LACOE will manage the design and construction of this entire project. Cal Poly Pomona, through an approved Operating Agreement, will provide general campus oversight. Student occupancy is tentatively scheduled for Sep 2012.
