Bldg 8 Courtyard Concrete Patio

Installation of cut-to-size polystyrene foam on existing deck. Used so less concrete is needed and to decrease total weight. Click to Zoom. About This Project

The Building 8 Courtyard Concrete Deck project is located within the area between Buildings 3 and 8. The primary scope of work includes the construction of a concrete deck and related waterproofing and drainage.

The area of work was originally a planter which posed leaking and structural concerns for the mechanical room and related equipment located below [in the basement of Building 8].

Also included in this project is a seatwall which runs the perimeter of the deck. Patio furniture has been added to the area in order to increase use. Bicycle racks to be added as well. Funds and time permitting, additional land and hardscape work is expected to take place in the courtyard area adjacent to this new deck.
