About This Project

Encinitas Hall Building 20. is a student residential building erected in 1961 on a total SF area of 37,426 SF. The building is located at University Dr. and is widely identified by its red brick exterior facade. The scope of work of this project includes a full ADA renovation of all 8 restrooms and shower rooms on approximately 2,700 square feet. It includes installing completely new electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire safety systems. Environmental abatement work will also be carried out at these facilities.

This $1.5 million project provides fresh ventilation and A/C systems in restrooms, as well as the complete finishing systems, including ceramic tiles and waterproof ceiling tiles. The project is now been completed on schedule and before students begin the Fall Quarter 2009.

Progress of Major Construction Activities

  • Notice of Completion (NOC) for the project has been issued on September 9th. Students are
    currently occupying the building and using the new facilities.
  • Two additional visitor restrooms at the first floor were completed including a laminated bench and ADA required drinking fountain.
  • Installation of new waste and ventilation piping systems at 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor restrooms locations 100% completed.
  • Installation of new fire alarm completed and approved by SFM.
  • Rough plumbing and installation of all WC, shower units and lavatories completed.
  • New HVAC system is completed at all six restroom locations.
  • Swanstone and new accessories at all shower rooms completed.
  • The Air Balance Report for the new HVAC system was received and meets all design requirements.
