About This Project

The new Recreation Center will be 120,000 GSF, which includes the replacement of the two existing state pools with a new pool to the south of Darlene May Gym.  The new pool will be completed and in use prior to the removal of the existing State pools. The schematic design phase is scheduled to begin October 2010.

The CM at Risk RFP bid opening occurred on September 22, 2010 with C.W. Driver is the apparent low bidder.  It is anticipated that the pre-construction agreement will be executed in the next few weeks with a project design start date of late October 2010.  The project is scheduled to be under construction for approximately 24 months with a fall 2014 grand opening.

Progress of Major Construction Activities

  • CM at Risk pre-construction the pre-construction agreement is at the Chancellor’s Office awaiting final signature.
  • Kick Off meeting took place October 13, 2010.
  • Campus Design Charrettes scheduled for November 4 and December 2, 2010.
