About This Project

The WK Kellogg Arabian Horse Library special collection, which is currently partially housed in the Kellogg Stables building, will now be located in the University Library first floor room 1832.  The entry to the 5,200 GSF space will be located at the main entry lobby of the University Library, adjacent to Starbucks. The entry has been designed to identify this special Library space and provide patrons the opportunity to view the historical artifacts. The collection includes numerous archival materials which requires special lighting (UV protection) and mechanical system (s) to control humidity and temperature, these program elements have been addressed in the design and construction of the new space.

Project Funding

  • HVAC system testing and balancing underway, commissioning scheduled for early October.
  • Punch list corrections ongoing.
  • State Fire Marshall Certificate of Occupancy issued.
  • Shelving installation ongoing.
  • Furniture to be installed mid October.
  • Library staff scheduled to begin shelving the collection October 18.
  • Kellogg wall sculpture scheduled to be installed

Key/Critical Issues Currently Pending

  • HVAC system start up and commissioning.
  • Installation of CPP Horse Photo wall covering, compatibility of photograph file issues being reviewed/addressed.

Upcoming Utility or Other Interruptions

  • During construction the lobby door to Starbucks will be closed during specific time frames.
