Proposition 47 (2002) funding for the University Library Addition has been allocated and the planning and design process for the project is well underway. This project will construct additional library space which will address the need to provide state of the art information stations, library instructional spaces, enhanced reading areas, (including a 2-story volume grand reading room), group study rooms, academic lectures spaces as well as 24-hour study space. Necessary improvements to the existing electrical and mechanical systems will be implemented to provide a fully operational and safe facility. The existing ground, first and second floors will be remodeled and will include program, accessibility and circulation improvements.
The existing library will remain operational during the construction and library services will be provided on the third, fourth and fifth floors. For specific information regarding library services during construction please contact the Dean of the library Harold Schleifer, hbschleifer@csupomona.edu or call (909) 869-3088.
The Library Addition is the first project of a comprehensive library and classroom master plan. The library master plan includes a future second project (Phase 2) that is the renovation of the existing third, fourth and fifth floor of the library to complete and complement improvements provided by the Library Addition and Renovation, Phase 1 project.
