The overall site is an approximately 65 acre parcel set aside by the University to develop in a joint private/public partnership to create facilities that will enable students and faculty to work or participate in innovative product or manufacturing development. Approximately 4 acres have already been developed. The Project, designated as Phase 1, will include the construction of a vehicular bridge over the existing San Jose Flood Control Channel and an extension of the campus' Kellogg Drive with perimeter landscaped setbacks and parkways, new signalization at Valley Blvd., and signal modifications at the intersections of Kellogg Drive and South Campus Drive, and wet and dry utilities.

Modifications to the intersection of Kellogg Drive and South Campus Drive include the following:

  •  Expand from a 3-way intersection to a 4-way intersection.
  • Additional right-turn-only lane onto South Campus Drive, with new curb and gutter, 4" thick by 5' wide concrete sidewalk and HC Access Ramp (included in the demolition work is the removal of 5 existing trees). New landscaping and installation of 5-new replacement trees, and modifications to the existing irrigation system.
  • Removal of existing street signalization and provide new 4-way street signalization per City of Pomona requirements.
  • Removal of existing asphalt concrete paving and base material, and replace with new asphalt concrete paving and base material.
  • New street striping.
