The realignment design follows the recommendations from the Pedestrian Safety Study by improving visibility at the new intersection, and vehicle safety, especially regarding speed and sight distance issues while exiting Citrus Lane onto Kellogg Drive.

The new intersection at University Drive and Kellogg Drive was open to traffic on February 6, 2008, and the section of Citrus Lane road connecting to Kellogg Drive adjacent to parking lot E1 is permanent closed. Work for additional pavement markings and reconfiguration of existing striping is in progress. The project is scheduled for completion by the end February, 2008.
