The Building 13 addition includes a wind tunnel laboratory space. The exterior walls are pre-cast concrete panels consistent with the existing building.

The United States Air Force has provided a new subsonic wind tunnel structure for the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona’s School of Aeronautical Engineering. The Wind Tunnel metal structure weights 50,000 pounds, and has already been installed in a new facility, specially built for this purpose. During Phase II of the Project, Control Room installation will take place coupled with all technological equipment and control panels. The wind tunnel VFD system will be tied-in to electric power as well.

The overall cost of the project is $2.0 million and will provide state of the art facilities for the College of Engineering. The project will be operative by the Fall Quarter 2008.
