Spring 2012 Quarter

The Spring 2012 Quarter term dates are March 26, 2012 through June 8, 2012. The Spring fee bills will be available via BroncoDirect on February 27, 2012.

Fee Schedule

The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum.  Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate.  Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun.  All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees.

IMPORTANT NOTICE to Student:

All courses with the course number 699 are Masters Degree Continuation courses, designed to avoid break in residence. These courses are 0 unit courses, but represent 1 unit of progress and are billed as such.

Professional Program Fee - $169 per unit per quarter

The Professional Program Fee is paid on a per unit basis in addition to the Tuition Fee and campus fees for the following graduate programs:

Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)
Master of Science (M.S.) programs in Accountancy
Master of Science (M.S.) programs in Business Administration

Non Resident Tuition Fee

In addition to the Mandatory Fees listed above, Non-residents must also pay $248 per unit for out-of-state tuition (No NRT Annual Cap). Non-resident tuition fee is required for students who are not California residents for one year prior to the resident determination date, which for the Spring 2012 Quarter is April 1, 2012.

Orientation & Photo ID Fees

The mandatory New Student Orientation fees and Photo ID fee are $170 for first time freshmen and $77 for new transfer students. Fees for the Poly Nights and Parent/Family Orientation programs are assessed separately and are not mandatory programs. Contact Orientation Services at (909) 869-3604 for more information on these optional programs.

Parking Fees

The quarter cost is $96.00 for four-wheel vehicles and $25.00 for motorcycles. A student may purchase one automobile parking decal through the BroncoDirect website during the registration period. The web online fee bill that is accessed for registration fees will include the charge for this decal. If a student wishes to purchase a decal during late registration, they purchase it at the Cashier's Office. If a student wishes to purchase more than one automobile decal, he/she must do so in person at the Cashier's Office.

To ensure a decal through the mail before the beginning of the quarter, a student must purchase decal through the BroncoDirect website in a timely manner.

During Late Registration: You must purchase your parking decal in person at Cashiering Services. 

Daily parking is $5.00.

Late Registration

The late registration add period is the four business days prior to the start of the term and the first five school days of the term. A hold has been placed on your account to prevent registration. You are required to prepay a minimum of half-time fees, a late registration charge of $25 plus any outstanding balance before the hold can be removed, To make a payment you may go to BroncoDirect for these charges or you can come into the Student Accounting & Cashiering Services Office.

Billing Information

Spring 2012 online fee bills include all outstanding charges including current registration, housing charges, mandatory Orientation fees, if applicable, and any unpaid balance from previous terms. If you are paying by check, be sure to write your Bronco Number on your check, and the check MUST be signed. Any student who has outstanding charges and who anticipates financial aid must verify their status with the Financial Aid office on or before March 7, 2012 to prevent loss of classes.  Any student with outstanding charges who anticipates being fully sponsored must verify their status with Student Accounting & Cashiering Services on or before March 7, 2012.  All enrolled students should view their student account status through BroncoDirect before March 7, 2012.  Cal Poly Pomona does NOT mail out any student billing statement.  If you have any questions regarding your student account, contact the Student Accounting & Cashiering Services office at (909) 869-2010.  If making payment by mail, please include your name and Bronco ID number on the check.

You are subject to normal collection actions for unpaid debts including but not limited to: assessment of late registration and past due fees, withholding of University services, withholding of credit for and disenrollment from some or all classes, referral of the debt to a collection agency and/or credit reporting agency, intercept of amounts due you from the State of California and/or legal action. You are obligated to pay all costs of collection, including attorney fees, collection agency fees and court costs

Refund Policy for Spring 2012

RESULTING FROM WITHDRAWING OR DROPPING ALL CLASSES

Students will be entitled to a full refund of mandatory fees and non-resident tuition, and tuition fee ONLY if they cancel their registration or drop ALL classes PRIOR TO FIRST DAY OF INSTRUCTION for an academic quarter (prior toMarch 26, 2012 for Spring 2012 Quarter).

Students who drop ALL classes on or after March 26, 2012 and up to 60% point in academic period (May 9, 2012 for Spring Quarter 2012) will be entitled to a pro-rata refund.

The pro-rata refund is determined on the basis of the date of the student's withdrawal and the length of the academic period.  The length of the academic period is calculated from the first day of instruction through the final exam day of the academic period and excludes any breaks of five (5) days or more.

How to calculate Pro-rated refund:

1.  Count number of days from March 26, 2012 to actual withdrawal date.
2.  Divide the number of days by 75 (number of days in Spring 2012 quarter) and multiply it by actual fees paid to get your pro-rated fee.
3.  Subtract pro-rated fee from actual fees paid.  This will be your refund, minus an administrative charge of $5.00.

Example:

1.  A student, who is a resident and a full-time undergrad, withdraws from all his classes on April 2, 2012 (8 days).
2.  8 / 75 x $2,031.22 = $216.66
3.  $2,031.22 - $216.66 = $1,814.56 less $5.00 administrative charge, refund amount $1,809.56.

Exceptions:  Tuition and mandatory fees shall be refunded and no administrative charge if:

REFUND RESULTING FROM DROPPING SOME BUT NOT ALL UNITS:

Students who drop some but not all units resulting in a lower Tuition Fee and Non-Resident Tuition Fee (NRT) within the campus designated drop period (on or before April 2, 2012 for Spring 2012 quarter) and in accordance with campus procedures will be entitled to a refund of the applicable difference in Tuition Fee levels (full time 6.1 units or more) to (part time 6.0 or less) and the number of units charged for NRT. Students who want a refund for parking MUST RETURN THE DECAL to Cashiering Services.

ALL REFUNDS ARE AUTOMATED AND WILL BE SUBJECT TO A $5.00 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE.

Refund will be processed and mailed to your address of record generally about 6 weeks after the beginning of the quarter.

Note:  For students receiving financial aid, please be aware that any refund resulting from withdrawal or a change in program will first be credited to the financial aid funds awarded.
