3. What is "Authorized" Financial Aid?

"Authorized" financial aid is aid that will be applied to your university charges. Aid will authorize only if you have received an official offer letter from the Office of Financial Aid.

  • Grant Aid is authorized to your account once you are registered at least half time (full time for EOP and Athletic Grants).
  • Federal Perkins Loan is authorized to your account once you submit a signed Promissory Note to the Student Accounts Office and are registered at least halftime.
  • Stafford Loan is authorized to your account. If you have applied for a Stafford Loan, you can add the quarterly amount into your authorized aid and subtract that amount from the total due for the quarter.
  • Work Study is not authorized to your account. You receive a paycheck monthly, for the hours you work. Scholarships are not generally authorized to your account.
  • Financial Aid not authorized on your student accounts fee bill. If you have been awarded aid other than Stafford and/or Work Study and if you are registered at least half time, contact the Office of Financial Aid at (909) 869-3700 to see why your funds are not reflected on your account.
