Proposal Submission

PROPOSAL SUBMISSION IS CLOSED.

The 15th CSU Symposium on University Teaching will be held at the Bronco Student Center at Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, April 14, 2012, 8:30 a.m. (registration), 9:00 a.m. program begins. A pre-conference workshop on the scholarship of teaching and learning will be held on Friday, April 13, 1-4:30 p.m., at the Cal Poly Pomona University Library (no extra charge).

By submitting a presentation proposal, you are NOT AUTOMATICALLY registering for the symposium. Please go to the Registration & Fees link to register for the symposium separately from submitting your proposal.

 

 Timeline

• Proposal submission open November 1, 2011. • Proposal submission closed February 1, 2012. • Proposal review returned February 10, 2012. • Revisions and resubmissions due February 17, 2012. • Final program decisions and acceptance communication February 24, 2012. The conference program will accommodate 30 oral sessions and up to 40 posters. Proposals will be reviewed by fellow faculty members according to the following criteria: • Proposal makes an original contribution to practice • Proposal should interest a significant portion of the audience • Proposal supports Learning by Design theme • Abstract conveys useful content. • Quality of writing • Overall impression • (Extra credit) Indication of interactive audience participation during the presentation See the entire review rubric and sample abstracts here.
