Reading Circles for Fall 2007

Learning Like a Girl

"Males talk, females listen" "Boys are taught to be leaders while girls are taught to be good." This book describes the experiences at the Archer school, a girls' school in Los Angeles , co-founded by the author. This book examines how single sex education can work for girls and how girls' learning style of collaboration and cooperation is facilitated in a different setting.

Learning and Motivation in the Postsecondary Classroom

Marilla Svinicki intends her book to function as a practical resource for postsecondary instructors to help them better understand how students learn and what difficulties students face in trying to master material.
