The Faculty Center provides support to new faculty to ensure their retention, advancement and success at Cal Poly Pomona.
Welcome Week for New Tenure-Track Faculty
The information and activities available during Welcome Week will help new tenure track faculty to get started quickly and smoothly on their careers at Cal Poly Pomona. Welcome Week will include:
- Employment paperwork, Bronco IDs, parking tags, and other administrative tasks
- Health and retirement benefits
- Retention, promotion and tenure process
- Cal Poly Pomona students and learning-centered teaching for a diverse student body
- Resources for teaching and working with students: including Instructional Technology, the Library, the Disability Resource Center , Counseling and Psychological Services, the University Ombuds, and emergency help
- Resources for scholarly activities other than teaching
- Break-out time with colleges and departments
Welcome Week General Schedule (please check for the detailed schedule in early August)
- Monday, September 15: 8:30 am – 5:15 pm, including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon reception
- Tuesday, September 16: 8:30 am – 1:30 pm, including breakfast and lunch
- Wednesday, September 17: 8:30 am – 1:30 pm, including breakfast and lunch
- Thursday, September 18: 8:30 am – 1:30 pm, including breakfast and lunch
Spouses or partners are invited to breakfast and to a benefits presentation from 8:30 – 10:00 am on Thursday
