The mission of the Baccalaureate-level Engineering Technology program at Cal Poly Pomona is to prepare graduates for productive employment within their respective field upon graduation. The program objectives and metrics are listed below.
Objective #1 -- Be Effective Engineering Team Members. The program will prepare graduates to be effective members of the "engineering team" utilizing project management techniques.
Objective #2 -- Professional, Global, and Societal Responsibilities. The program will prepare graduates to have an appreciation of the professional, ethical, and societal responsibilities associated with engineering.
Objective #3 -- Technical Competency. The program will prepare graduates to be able to apply established math, science and engineering methods to analyze and solve practical engineering problems in industry.
Objective #4 -- Life Long Learning. The program will prepare graduates to appreciate the need for and utilize life-long learning and continuous improvement techniques to maintain currency in their profession.
Objective #5 -- Effective Communication. The program will prepare graduates to appreciate the need for, and ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
