Pictured here are the Hybrid Formula Car Team members from Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Engineering, that met last year with Governor Schwartzeneger. The team participated for the first time last year in this Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) national competition as they were supported by a donation from “Plug In America”, a lobby organization that promotes electric car use and development. The CPP team will be unable to participate this year due to lack of funds, but they have launched various fund-raising initiatives. During the weekend of April 16-18, the Hybrid Formula Car will be on display at the Long Beach Formula Car Grand Prix to show off last year’s car and attract potential donors.
