Six engineering faculty were selected to receive funding for their scholarship through the Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities (RSCA) program at Cal Poly Pomona.
Recognizing the importance of the faculty scholarship and research supported by this highly-valued program, the University President, Dr. J. Michael Ortiz, has generously provided support from the Kellogg Endowment funds. Faculty recipients were awarded funding based on their competitive proposals.
Engineering recipients include:
|Dr. Keith Forward, Chemical & Materials Engineering
" Electrospun Membranes for Membrane Distillation"
|Dr. Yong X. Gan, Mechanical Engineering
"Electrospinning composite nanofibers for thermoelectric energy conversion"
|Dr. Norali Pernalete, Engineering Technology
" Integration of Fuzzy Logic and Neural Network Methods with a Robotic Haptic Device for Motor Skills Assessment"
|Dr. Maryam Shafahi, Mechanical Engineering
" Aquaponics – A Sustainable Food Production System"
|Dr. Ali Sharbat, Civil Engineering
" Investigation of Possible Mechanism(s) of Ion-exchange Resin Biological Regeneration Used for Treatment of Oxyanion Pollutants from Drinking Water"
|Dr. Xinkai Wu, Civil Engineering
" Investigation of Plug-in Electric Vehicle Travel and Charging Behavior"
