Excellent day for Cal Poly, there are 85 international teams in attendance as of the start of the dynamic event this morning.
This results were posted from the previous days static events at the Portland Expo Center. Our student team earned 14th in sales presentation, 1st place in cost, 13th in design, and 1st in technical inspection which this year is a point earning event.
The team completed acceleration, hill climb, maneuverability, and rock crawl today with times that are all in the top ten of all teams. We will find out in the morning our exact scores which are added and determine position on the starting grid for the 4 hour endurance race tomorrow.
Coming into this competition with the number one plate from last years win has been great for our students and somewhat stressful at times. We have received many accolades from other teams and a lot of questions on our designs, and are definitely being watched by everyone very closely with high expectations.
All is great, hoping for a smooth day tomorrow running at the front of the pack.
