Dr. Randall Peeters
Former Vice President of Engineering, Aerojet, a GenCorp, Inc.

As Chief Scientist at Power Play Energy, Randy directs the development of platelet hot end devices for Stirling engines on a project which has the potential to revolutionize Stirling engine applications.

Before moving to Power Play in December 2000, Dr. Peeters was the Chief Scientist for GenCorp Aerojet. At Aerojet, which he joined in 1982, he had also served as Manager of Aging and Surveillance, Manager of Advanced Technology, Director of Chemical Research and Development, Director of Chemical and Material Operations, Director of Research and Development, Director of Advanced Development Engineering, and Vice President of Engineering. In these roles, he worked on numerous projects covering a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary activities.

Prior to being recruited by Aerojet, Randy also worked at the Eastman Kodak Company, Xerox Corporation, the Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Air Force Phillips Laboratory and the Boeing Company.

Randy received his Ph.D. and MS degrees from the University of Washington in Aeronautics and Astronautics and his BS degree in Aerospace Engineering from the California State Polytechnic University.

Currently Randy is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, a member of Tau Beta Pi, is on the board of directors for the California Engineering Foundation and serves on Advisory Boards at the California State Polytechnic University, and the University of Washington.

In recognition for distinguished service to youth, Randy received the Silver Beaver Award from the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He also received the 2000 Distinguished Alumni Award for the College of Engineering of the California State Polytechnic University and the 2001 Distinguished Alumni Award for the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, University of Washington.

For over 40-years Randy has been active in numerous sports including skydiving, BASE-jumping, skiing & boarding, climbing, scuba and free diving, whitewater rafting and kayaking, and surfing. Randy has achieved extremely high levels of competence in virtually all of these activities. Highlights include reaching the top of some of the worlds highest, most difficult and/or most remote peaks (Matterhorn, Mt Blanc, Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, Denali, Aconcauga, Vinson, Cho Oyo, and Mount Everest), climbing some of the most sought after rock climbs in the world (El Cap and Half Dome), surfing Hawaii and Heli-skiing in extreme environments.
