Innovation in Teaching Award
The Innovation in Teaching Award is for tenure-track assistant and associate professors who demonstrate significant promise in teaching and a passion for innovative teaching pedagogies.  To be eligible, faculty members must have at least two years of teaching in the College of Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. This award is given to a maximum of one recipient each year and includes a $500 stipend. 

Nominations for this award should follow the nomination guidelines and demonstrate that the nominee:

Outstanding Teaching Award
The Outstanding Teaching Award is to recognize faculty members whose teaching is exceptional and meritorious.  All tenured faculty, tenure-track faculty, and full-time lecturers with a minimum of five years of teaching in the College of Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona are eligible.  This award is given to a maximum of one recipient each year and includes a $500 stipend.  (Previous award winners are ineligible for five years.)

Nominations for this award should follow the nomination guidelines and demonstrate that the nominee:

Nomination Guidelines
Individual faculty members, departments, or student organizations may present nominations for a teaching award to the College of Engineering Dean’s Office.  The nominations should include the following:

  1. Nomination cover page (pdf form).
  2. One letter of support from a Cal Poly Pomona colleague, addressing all the criteria of the teaching award. 
  3. One letter of support from current or past students addressing the nominee’s dedication to teaching.
  4. A two-page Teaching Statement by the nominee that reflect his/her teaching philosophy, teaching practices, and methods of evaluating those practices.

Timeline
Nomination packages are due on the Friday of 9th week each Winter Quarter by 4 pm to the Dean’s Office.  The awards will be announced during the Spring Quarter.
