Core Training

Core Training-Summer 2014

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Core Training is an intensive program that gives teachers an overview of the PLTW courses to be taught to middle and high school students. The Core Training courses are taught by PLTW Core Training Instructors. Teachers from across the nation are invited to take advantage of the PLTW Core Training at Cal Poly Pomona.

Registration for Core Training will open on March 7. Teachers who have completed their registration will receive access to readiness training on April 15.

PLTW Engineering (high school)

Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM): July 6 - July 18

Engineering Design and Development (EDD): July 6 - July 18

Computer Science and Software Engineering *(CSE): July 6 - July 18
Introduction to Engineering (IED): July 20 - August 1

Principles of Engineering (POE): July 20 - August 1

*CSE courses are visible only after you login on the "PLTW Extranet" webpage.

 

PLTW Gateway (middle school)

Design and Modeling (DM): July 7 - July 11

Automation and Robotics (AR): July 14 - July 18

Magic of Electrons (ME): July 20 - July 22

Flight and Space (FS): July 23 - July 25

Medical Detectives (MD): July 28 - August 1


Registration Fees:

PLTW Engineering (high school):
Includes lunch and parking
$2,500 per each course

PLTW Gateway (middle school):

Includes lunch and parking
$1500 per each course for DM, AR or MD

$650 per each course for ME or FS


Housing on Campus at Kellogg West Conference Center Lodge:
(optional; participants may choose to commute to campus each day)
Includes breakfast and dinner
Private room with bath, tv, phone, and patio or balcony. Access to complimentary fitness center and pool: $135 per night


Cancellation:

  • Full refund if cancellation occurs 1 month prior to training start date; No refund if cancellation occurs less than 1 month prior to training start date.
