Wireless Access: Macintosh 10.5.4 - Leopard

Set up Your Wireless Connection

  1. To update your OS X:
  2. Go to finder.
  3. Click on the Apple icon (top left side).
  4. Select Software Update.
  5. Restart your computer.
  6. Click on the Apple icon:
    1. Go to System Preferences.
    2. Click on Network.
    3. Select AirPort.
    4. Click on the Advanced button.

      Note: Avoid connecting to the "Guest" network automatically.

      1. Disconnect from the "Guest" network if previously connected:
      2. Log out and log back in.
      3. Click on the “Advanced...” button above.
      4. Place a check mark next to the option “Disconnect from wireless networks when logging out”.
      5. Again, make sure that the "Guest" network does not appear in the preferred network box.


  7. From the Advanced Network window:
    1. Click on the tab 802.1X.
  8. On the Advanced Network window, for the User Profiles section:
    1. Click on plus icon.
    2. Select “Add User Profile”.
    3. Type any name for this user profile. Any other profile should be removed.
  9. On the Advanced Network window:
    1. For User Name, enter your BroncoName.
    2. For password, enter your Network Password (this password is not the same as your BroncoPassword).

    3. For wireless network, enter CPP.
    4. For Authentication, check mark PEAP, TTLS and EAP-FAST.
    5. Click OK.


  10. Click the wireless icon (upper right corner):
    1. Click on "Join Other Network . . .".


  11. On the Network window:
    1. For Network Name, enter CPP.
    2. For Security, select WPA Enterprise.
    3. For User Name, enter your BroncoName.
    4. For Password, enter your Network Password (this password is not the same as your BroncoPassword).

  12. Click Join.
  13. Click Apply.

    Note: The above settings should work with CISCO AP, which supports PEAP, LEAP and MSCHAP. In Tiger, settings were configured as LEAP, and it worked. However, settings configured as LEAP will not work for Leopard.


  14. Click Done.
