Cal Poly Pomona

Your CPP web space

Every computer user at Cal Poly Pomona has space for publishing a web page. It is located at http://www.csupomona.edu/~username/, where username is your Cal Poly Pomona BroncoName. By default, its permissions are set so that only the user has access, and it comes with a default home page that has a standard disclaimer and a link (unfortunately, now broken) to the acceptable computer use policy.

Groups can also have space for web pages, with the URL http://www.csupomona.edu/~groupname/, where groupname is the name of the group. By default, there are no restrictions to viewing pages in a group web space (anyone in the world can see them), and there is no default home page, so that an empty group will look like this.

By default, user and group accounts come with 50 megabytes of storage, which must contain web pages, email and any other files you choose to store there (faculty and staff who choose to use the campus Exchange server have their email stored elsewhere). To check on your available space, go to My Control Panel; the information is listed as "directory quota." Users with special needs may request quota increases via the Help Desk. If you are a student, you will need a letter from a professor explaining in detail why the increased quota is necessary for coursework or some other aspect of your degree program.
