1. In Thunderbird version 2.0.0.4, go to Tools > Account Settings.
   
   
2. Then select Composition & Addressing within the properties for The Cal Poly Pomona email settings > Select Edit Directories.
   
   
   
3. Click on the Add button.
   
4. Enter the following settings under the General tab:
   
   Name: Cal Poly
   Hostname: ldap.csupomona.edu
   Base DN: dc=csupomona.edu,dc=edu
   Port number: 389
   
   
   
   
5. Click on the Advanced Tab and enter an adequate value for search results or leave default value. The bigger the number, the longer the query will take to the LDAP server. Click OK.
   
   
   
6. Under Addressing, select the new entry for the Use of a different LDAP server.
   
   
   
7. When creating a new email address, change to the appropriate Address Book, CalPoly.
