Note: We are ensuring that our email is even more secure by supporting "Secure Socket Layer" (SSL) for our Webmail, POP, IMAP and SMTP servers.
If you need to send or receive email before completing configuration of your local email client, you can still access email through your web browser interface at:
https://exchange.csupomona.edu.
Incoming Server: exchange.csupomona.edu
Outgoing Server: smtp.csupomona.edu
Login User Name: win\bronconame\groupname
Login Password: BroncoPassword
Example: The user Billy Bronco with a BroncoName of “bbronco” would log in into the group mailbox “helpdesk” with a login of “win\bbronco\helpdesk. Billy Bronco would use his own BroncoPassword for the password login.
Instructions:
Note: First time setup must be accomplished on each client that requires access to the Exchange group mailbox.
- Open Mozilla Thunderbird.
- Select: Tools > Account Settings.

- Click: Add Account.

- Select Email account > Next.

- In the Account Wizard Identity dialog box:
- For Your Name: Enter the group mailbox name.
- For Email Address: Enter the group mailbox email address.

- In the Account Wizard Server Information dialog box:
- Type of incoming server: select IMAP.
- Name of incoming server: enter "exchange.csupomona.edu".

- In the Account Wizard User Names dialog box,:
- For Incoming User Name: enter "win\yourBroncoName\GroupMailboxName" (e.g. helpdesk. Note: "helpdesk@csupomona.edu" is the email address and helpdesk is the Exchange group mailbox name).
- For Outgoing User Name: enter "win\yourBroncoName\GroupMailboxName" (same as above).

- In the Account Wizard Account Name dialog box, enter your group mailbox name.

- Review the account information and confirm that it is correct by clicking Finish. If it is not correct, click the back button.

- If your group mailbox has been added correctly, you will see it listed in your folders pane in Thunderbird.

- In the Mail Server Password Required dialog box, enter your BroncoPassword. If you would like Thunderbird to remember your password, check the Password Manager box and click OK.

- In order to view additional group mailbox folders, you will have to subscribe to them. Right click on the mailbox account and select Subscribe.

- Check the boxes of the folders you wish to subscribe to and click the Subscribe button. Click OK and close the window.
Note: You might need to click the + sign to collapse folders and subscribe to subfolder.

- All the group mailboxes you subscribed to will be visibly listed in your folders pane in Thunderbird.
