Step I: Screen and LCD Projector
- If the classroom is equipped with a motorized screen; use the switch on the wall labeled “Screen” to lower the screen.
- Locate the covered switch on the wall with the label “Projector Power” and make sure it is on.
- Point the remote control at the front of the projector and press the ON button.
- Use the “input” button on the remote control to choose which device to use: Input 1: PC & Laptop, Input 3: VCR.
Step II: PC Log ON
- Gently press the button on the top of the ServSwitch to select “1”.
- Press the “Power” button (largest circular button on the front center of the computer) on the PC to turn it on.
- Press the “Power” button on the monitor to turn it on.
- To log on to the computer, enter in faculty for the user name.
Note:
THERE IS NO PASSWORD.
- To turn off properly, please follow Step VI.
Step III: VCR and Closed Caption Decoder
- Press the “Power” button on the VCR to turn the VCR ON and OFF.
- Insert your video into the VCR and press “Play”.
- For Closed Captioning please refer to Step VII - Enable and Disable Closed-Caption.
Step IV: DVD
- Press the button on DVD drive to open up the tray.
- Place DVD in DVD tray and press the button on the DVD drive to close the tray.
- Double-click the Power DVD icon on the desktop to start the DVD player.
- To start the DVD, press the play button on the Power DVD player.
- To stop the DVD, press the stop button on the Power DVD player.
Step V: Laptop
- Gently press the button on the top of the ServSwitch to select “2”.
- Connect the VGA and Internet cables to your laptop.
- Turn on your laptop.
Note:
If laptop is already on, either reboot or close and open your screen/lid to activate projector connection on laptop.
Step VI: Power Shut Down
- Point the remote control in front of the projector and press the “OFF” button twice.
- If the classroom is equipped with a motorized screen; use the switch on the wall labeled “Screen” to raise the screen.
- For “PC” shutdown:
- Click the “Start” menu button in the lower left of the screen.
- Select “Shutdown”.
- In the box that appears:
- Click the drop down menu.
- Select “Shutdown”.
- Click “OK”.
Step VII: Enable and Disable Closed-Captioning
To enable:
- Use a pointed object to move closed-caption switch to the left (L) position.
- Move the sound filter switch to the right (R) position to make sure the sound is not inhibited.
To disable:
- Move closed-caption switch to the right (R) position.
For assistance, call the Help Desk at 909.869.6776. Be prepared to provide your name and classroom location.
A Help Desk representative will try to help you resolve the issue via the phone. If, however, your problem cannot be resolved quickly, he/she will ask someone from the Tech Shop to meet you in your classroom.
Help Desk hours:
- Monday through Thursday: 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM and Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Exceptions:
- State Holidays - CLOSED
- State Furlough Fridays - CLOSED
If assistance is needed after 5 PM, Monday - Thursday, call X6776 and press 2 to be directed to the Tech Shop.
Tech Shop personnel are available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Thursday and Friday - CLOSED.
