Overview

This orientation explains how to use the Blackboard system and the frequently used tools within Blackboard. Our goal is to help you learn Blackboard basics. Modules or topics in this orientation include:

•     Locating Blackboard Help Resources
•     Navigating through Blackboard
•     Assignments
•     Tests
•     Messages and Email
•     Chat
•     Discussion Board
•     Groups
•     Class Roster and Student Homepages
•     Grades

You can select an individual module to review. Upon completion, you can print a certificate for the respective topic. Alternatively, you can complete the entire eOrientation and then print a single "Entire eOrientation" certificate to demonstrate you have completed the entire program.

Technical Requirements

Disable your Pop-Up Blocker

Various sections of the eOrientation program will open in new windows. Please disable your Pop-Up Blocker to avoid potential problems.

In Internet Explorer

• Click Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Turn Off Pop-up Blocker

In Firefox

• Click Tools > Options
• Under the "Content" section uncheck "Block pop-up windows"

In Safari

• Click on the Safari Menu > Block Pop-Up Windows

Download Adobe Flash Player

If you plan to view and print certificates, please download and install the Adobe Flash Player. The Adobe Flash Player is available for free download at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ (link opens in a new window).

Getting Started

The eOrientation modules were created in a Blackboard organization site called Blackboard Student eOrientation. You will need to self-enroll to gain access to the organization site. Below you will find instructions on how to self-enroll.  Once you have successfully self-enrolled, please read the detailed instructions on each module within the organization site.

Note: For successful completion, it is important that you pay close attention to the detailed instructions you will find within the organization site.

• Go to Blackboard Student eOrientation (link opens in a new window)
• If you see an Access Denied message, login with your BroncoName and Bronco Password
• You will be asked to self-enroll. Click Submit to self-enroll.
• Click OK to move on
• Read the Welcome message carefully and follow the instructions on the Welcome page
