If you had created a forum that allowed the grading of threads, you may go on with this tutorial.
From Control Panel

Click on Discussion Boards link in the Content Area section.
- Open the Discussion Board of your choice
- Click on the grade icon
next to the Forum you wish to grade.
- Click the Grade button next to any user you wish to grade.
- Assess the threads poted by the particular student
- Enter the grade
- Click Submit.
