Research in Women's Studies may lead to indexes in other disciplines. Please consult other subject guides for additional sources.

An index or abstract provides citations to articles organized by subjects or topics from hundreds of periodicals. An abstract includes a short summary of the article as well. After using an index or abstract be sure to copy or print out the citation (name of magazine or newspaper, author and title of article, volume number and pages; for books you need the author, title, and year of publication).

This information is needed so that you can (1)check if the item is owned by the library or (2) submit a Document Deliver request for items we don't own. WilsonWeb and Social Science Abstracts Full Text inform you if we have the item. To determine if we own a particular journal title, click on the 'check for holdings' link at the bottom of each record. For items we own you will be provided with the call number and its location (film, fiche, or shelf).

If the index includes full-text (for example, JSTOR) you can print, download (copy to disk), or email the article.
