WELCOME
to Cal Poly Pomona's Alpha Lambda Delta web page. Alpha Lambda
Delta (ALD) is a national honor society which recognizes academic
excellence in university students. ALD was founded at the University
of Illinois in 1924. The Pomona's chapter of ALD was founded in
1998. This organization encourages current members and new freshmen
to pursue scholarship while enjoying the learning experience.
Membership Criteria
Alpha Lambda Delta membership is
open to all freshmen who meet the academic qualifications. Students
must be registered for twelve units or more with a 3.5 or better
grade point average.
Once initiated, the student becomes a lifetime member of Alpha
Lambda Delta. The one-time membership fee is $15.00. Members may
remain active in the chapter throughout college. Offices are held
by members while they are sophomores.
Benefits
ALD provides recognition, prestige,
scholarships and fellowships. Two scholarships are provided each
year, one national scholarship for graduating seniors and one
local scholarship for continuing students. ALD also provides opportunities
to become involve in various workshops, social activities, and
philanthropic work with various offices and departments on and
off campus.
