Courses Offered: ECE405L, ECE448L, ECE519, EGR586, ETE485, ETE492
Laboratory Size: 1434 square feet
Average # of students per year: 207
Lab Function:
To provide support for:
- Analog and digital communication laboratories in ECE and ETE.
- radio frequency (RF) design
- System simulation and modeling analysis
- Signal analysis and modeling
- Senior and graduate project.
Lab Status:
-
It has twelve working stations equipped with
- Intergraph computer (Pentium 4 1 GHz)
- Spectrum analyzer-10K to 1.2GHz
- Two Power Supplies
- Five Signal sources-DC to 6MHz
- Oscilloscope
- Filter, tunable-10 Hz to 1MHz
- Krohn-Hite filters.
Printers-1 Blk/White, 1 Color
Current Problems with the Laboratory:
Lack of:
- Noise source-difficult to make SNR experiments or measurements
- Audio range spectral analyzer 0.001 Hz to 20 KHz- not able to look at a spectral content of voice
- Tunable filter above 1 MHz- not able to model communication systems above 1 MHz
Equipment Needs:
- Twelve Noise sources
- Twelve Spectrum analyzers for the audio range
- Twelve Tunable filters for above 1 MHz
- Twelve computers
