I have been teaching at Cal Poly Pomona since the fall quarter
of 1991. During this time my broad hospitality generalist background and the guidance of my fellow faculty members have enabled me to teach a wide variety of courses at the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior levels. I have taught over a dozen different courses in a wide variety of topics. The courses that I have most frequently taught are Hotel and Restaurant Sanitation and Safety, Hospitality Industry Accounting courses, Food and Beverage Cost Controls, and Information Systems courses. I also frequently work with students on their Senior Research projects. These projects include a variety of topics such as diversity in the hospitality industry, restaurant development and operations, tourism, and yield management. |

| Teaching provides opportunities to interact with, coach, and learn from students and industry professionals in the global marketplace. The use of technology in teaching helps to stretch the frontiers of learning. It is important to learn to navigate the vast seas of information that today's environment provides. The university and hospitality industry are both continuous learning environments that demand individuals who know how to learn.. Personal initiative, competitive forces, and a desire to create a better place require that individuals continue the education and development of each other to maximize our individual and collective talents. This is the challenge for all of us. |
