WHAT DO I DO IF I THINK I HAVE A LEARNING DISABILITY?

Come to the Disabled Student Services office and pick up a Learning Disability Screening Questionnaire. A meeting will be scheduled for you and a DSS Staff member to discuss your results. If preliminary testing supports the probability of a learning disability, the student may then be recommended for additional in-depth testing with our Learning Disabilities Specialist to determine the eligibility for services. The Learning Disabilities Specialist for Cal Poly is qualified to administer and interpret the testing necessary to provide an individualized program of accommodations and support services. Such testing will measure such factors as cognitive aptitude and abilities for academic achievement.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE ALREADY BEEN TESTED AND DIAGNOSED WITH A LEARNING DISABILITY?

Prior testing results may be used for eligibility provided that documentation is submitted by a qualified professional and results are no more than three years old.
