How do I apply to ARCHES?

To apply you will need to pick up an ARCHES application from the Disability Resource Center (Bldg 9, room 103) or the ARCHES office (Bldg 1 room 214). The ARCHES application is also available to download on our About ARCHES and Applying page. Once you have completed the application return it to the DRC or ARCHES office. Once the ARCHES staff has reviewed your application you will receive a phone call to schedule an intake appointment.

Do I need to provide disability documentation to ARCHES?

No, ARCHES is able to verify a student’s disability documentation through the Disability Resource Center.


Why do I have to complete the income verification form that is part of the ARCHES Application?

This information is required by the U.S. Department of Education for all ARCHES Participants. The ARCHES grant is a federally funded program that aims to support underrepresented students, including low income students. This information will be kept confidential in our office and will be used to determine a student's low income status.


What does TRiO Student Support Services mean?

TRiO programs were established to promote educational equity for students who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education. Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRiO program. It provides opportunities for academic development, assists students in meeting basic college requirements, and serves to motivate students towards the successful completion of their postsecondary education. Why should I join ARCHES?

ARCHES is committed to providing support services to ARCHES participants to help facilitate graduation. Some of the services that ARCHES provides are academic advising, tutoring, peer advising, workshops, network meetings, and cultural events.


How do I request tutoring?

ARCHES tutoring is only available to ARCHES participants. For instructions on requesting a tutor please read our requesting a tutor page.


Why should I meet with a peer advisor?

Peer advising can help students develop skills in time management, organization, and study skills. These skills can help students manage and achieve their academic and personal tasks and goals.
