Personal Statement

I believe the leadership journey is always challenging, fascinating and rewarding in ways that aren't always readily apparent. There are many pathways in the development of a leader, each with its own set of trials, obstacles, mysteries, opportunities, and treasures. Leadership is a task that is never finished and becoming a leader is a process that is never completed. Rather, leadership is an ongoing process of self-discovery and personal growth. It is not a right, entitlement or endowment, but a gift that one shares with others. True leadership is hard earned and tempered through the tribulations and celebrations of organizational life. It is a moral calling that lifts us beyond our petty preoccupations in pursuit of service to others. Trust and integrity are the pillars upon which leaders construct enduring relationships, while high values and clarity of purpose are the watermarks that define the contours of a leader's work.
