Design-Based Learning
Since 2000, the Summer Institute for Teachers at the end of July is a five day, intensive program in this time-tested methodology. Its goal is to tap students’ natural creativity to develop higher-level thinking and enhance comprehension of the K–12 curriculum. Full-tuition scholarships are available for this one-week, four semester unit course.*

Leslie Stolz, 1998 DBL MA graduate and winner of Outstanding Alumni Award at Cal Poly Pomona, and Golden Bell Award, State of California, became the principal of the Los Angeles Academy of Arts and Enterprise, a charter high school in the Los Angeles Unified School District in 2007.
These graduates are lecturers in Design-Based Learning at the Cal Poly Pomona since 2005 and continuing..
These graduates serve as faculty at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California teaching classes in Design-Based Learning and are members of their Design-Based Learning Advisory Board since 2001.
