Guitar
The guitar is defined as: a string instrument (usually 6 strings) that
is plucked or strummed with the fingers or a plectrum, normally having frets
along the fingerboard. Most all jazz players today use an electic guitar
not an acoustic guitar, which does not have integral electrical components.
The two main kinds of electric guitar are the hollowbodied (electric-acoustic)
and the solid-bodied.
Banjo
The Banjo is a plucked string instrument witha long guitar-like neck
that was used in both blues and ragitme ortinted jazz. Three are common
in jazz: the five string in G or C, the four string tenor banjo and the
six-string guitar banjo.
