Before beginning this class I was already searching for who I am . So it was really intriguing and comforting to read stories such as "Johnnieruth" by Birtha and "No Name Woman" by Kingston. I shared alot of the feelings and similar experiences that these characters endured. So I knew that somewhere someone was going through the same things or similar that I am. Currently my search has taught me that I am made up of several different cultures, including Cherokee Indian, English, Irish and German. Someday I would like to visit New Jersey, where my father came from, and maybe find more about myself and what I am made of. But no matter what I will always be an American.
