My dad is Spanish and my mom is Mexican and it was really nice to read stories in English 213 that mention my nationality, such as the story "The Moths" by Helena Maria Viramontes. There were other stories too, but this one instantly caught my eye. The story reminded me of my grandma and that I probably did not appreciate her as much as I should have when she was alive. It was nice to have something remind me of my grandmother. The story also showed me that I am not the only one who feels like they did not appreciate someone in their life as much as they should have. One important thing this story "The Moths" shows is that even though no one can go back in time to fix things it is never to late to try to redeem yourself in some other way.
