- teaching composition, along with world literatures
(especially literatures of the "Third
World"), ethnic literatures of the U.S., writing by women,
postcolonial studies, and (team-teaching) IGE 121, "Reason
and Revelation"
- working with the campus group MADILA (Multicultural
Association for Diversity in
Literature and the Arts) -- field trips, international poetry
readings, hikes and parties, and other
exciting and provocative communications across cultural boundaries

- co-editing a book, Fractious Community: World Feminisms in Dialogue (being considered by the University Press of Virginia)
- continuing work on a "sequel" to my earlier anthologies -- Contemporary Women Poets of the World (with the help of student research assistants and friends and colleagues around the world)
- writing an essay for a book on the origins and influence of the Comparative Literature Department's Women's Caucus at UC Berkeley
- joining with others across the campus--in committees and on other projects--to improve university climate and make this a place where students (and the rest of us) from diverse backgrounds can thrive
- helping contribute to mutual mentoring and support among women faculty at Cal Poly through the Women Faculty Association's online discussion board "WFA Cafe"
