Velada Literaria - A night full of poetry, music, dance, theater, and various talents.  Our "Literary Symposiums" are well known for being a channel of artistic expression in which students and faculty have shared their talents.

Art Exhibits - CULTURA has brought to Cal Poly art exhibitions that portrayed some of the best contemporary artists of Latin America such as the "Latin American Masters"

Cultural Trips - Members of CULTURA have visited various cultural sites such as the Ancient Indigenous Caves in Ensenada, the Geti Center, the Latin American Museum of Art, and many more.  We represented Cal Poly at the National Cultural and Leadership Conference which took place in San Francisco.

Gourmet Expeditions - A way to learn about Latin America is through its cuisine. At least once a quarter CULTURA visits a restaurant from a paricular country and samples tipical dishes and drinks. In the past we have been to places that serve food from countries such as Brazil, Cuba, Colombia, Peru, El salvador, Nicaragua, Mexico,  and Argentina.  This is one of our member's favorite event.

Soccer Tournament - This event takes place during the winter quarter.  Usually a weekend depending on how many teams participate.  Registration is open to any team on and off campus not participating in the NCAA.  In the past we have had teams from Mt.SAC, Chaffey College, Cipress College as well as teams from our campus. 

Cultural Presentations - Trough this event members of CULTURA have an opportunity to showcase their country or city  and its customs.  Past presentations include Paraguay, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Yucatan and Mexico City.

Guest Speakers - CULTURA has sponsored some of the most knowledgeable and respected speakers in California as well as in Latin America, on topics such as politics, economics, architecture, linguistics and culture.

Theater Night - CULTURA attends every play put together by The Billingual Foundation of  the Arts in Los Angeles.  These plays feature a cultural message through a comedy or a love story. Past events include: Nuestra Senora de la Tortilla, Don Juan Tenorio, Guantanamera, and the most recent, La Dama Boba. This event is usually followed by a Pachanga o Rumba.

Latin American Film Festival - This event usually takes place on campus and features some of the most prominent independent films of the centuty.

Musical Performances - CULTURA is musically represented by CASANOVA which is the main attraction of the annual Culture Show put together by the Multi-Cultural Council of Cal Poly. CASANOVA has been performing for over four years and their repertoire includes a variety of Latin American tunes as well as rumbas flamencas.

Yacht Party - A night full of Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Rock en Espanol etc, on a Yacht cruising the Queensway Bay in Long Beach.

CULTURA is also part of the Cinco de Mayo festivities that take place during the month of May.
