Since 2004, The Lyle Center has offered a summer workshop series on sustainable living, in partnership with the Solar Living Institute (SLI) of Hopland, CA. Workshops consist of one or two-day intensive classes, where students learn about sustainable principles and apply them in a hands-on demonstration activity. Past workshop topics have included straw-bale building construction, organic gardening, water treatment, biodiesel production and solar power technology. Courses are taught by Lyle Center adjunct faculty and local practitioners.
