The entrants shall produce a board [20“ x 20“] within the predetermined template.
Competition of ideas
As an additional means of celebrating our Anniverary, the Department is sponsoring a competition of ideas: exploring the posibilities of Los Angeles 2057 This Competition will be open to anyone and available for a small fee to cover printing and mounting.
Cal Poly Pomona has been educating Landscape Architects for 50 years. In that time the department has created a program that aspires to instill in our students the skills and theories to change the face of Los Angeles in regenerative ways. As a University which values „learn by doing“ a competition applies this value. Los Angeles is a bellwether, an early indicator of urban issues in the United States. It is growing to the classification of „megacity“. Cal Poly Pomona Department of Landscape Architectures invites all to share their visions of Los Angeles in 2057.
This competition of ideas challenges entrants reconsider Los Angeles under a model of urban regeneration. Entrants may use any case study, idea or notion to demonstrate these regenerative ideas. This competition invites submissions that promote visionary speculation of the future of Los Angeles all inclusive.
There will be no question and answer period for this competition. The entrants shall define Los Angeles 2057 on one board at 20“ x 20“.
Submissions will be judged during the 50th Anniversary celebration week. Winners will be announced at the 50th Anniverary gala dinner.
