Specific questions about graduation requirements, such as remaining classes an individual student needs to take, should be addressed to the individual’s evaluator in the Registrar’s Office.
Caps and gowns are available at the Technical Services counter at the Bronco Bookstore:
“Complete” includes cap, gown, and tassel. Master’s also includes the hood.
Bookstore Schedule :
Monday thru Thursday 7:45 am to 6:30 pm
Friday 7:45 am to 5:00 pm
For those who like the thrill of waiting until the last minute, caps and gowns are also available at the Campus Center Marketplace on June 8 through 10, starting about two hours prior to the ceremonies.
These caps and gowns are the ONLY outer attire allowed for graduates. It is not an all-weather garment; inclement weather may damage clothing worn underneath. The attire is all black and quite warm, so plan your clothing under the gown accordingly.
A gold cord worn around the neck of the gown signifies baccalaureate graduation with academic honors. Cal Poly Pomona grants honors upon graduation to students who have demonstrated academic excellence throughout their undergraduate careers.
Those receiving master's degrees are not eligible for honors.
Honors apply to undergraduate students who graduate with an overall grade point average of at least 3.50. Spring Quarter candidates must have had a minimum overall GPA of 3.50 based on Winter Quarter grades. Everyone who earns honors at graduation will have that designation noted on their diploma. The honors are:
Honor cords, which are available for no additional fee, may be obtained at the Registrar's Office beginning May 30. Photo identification is required to obtain the cord and they will not be issued to those who are "summer walks." For questions about honors cords, please call 909-869-4900.
Tickets are not required and there is no limit to the number of guests you may bring. Please advise your guests to try to arrive at least one hour prior to the ceremony.

Please inform your family and friends that a professional photographer will be taking your picture as you shake hands on the stage. The photographer is positioned just off-stage for the perfect shot of your proud moment. For that perfect picture, remember to stop when you’re handed your diploma jacket; smile; and shake hands. Try not to say “thank you” until you see the flash!
Proofs will be mailed to you shortly after the ceremony for you to consider purchasing. You do not need to sign up for this service in advance; every candidate and graduate will have their photograph taken on stage. There is no obligation to purchase any of these photos.

Classic Photography is Cal Poly Pomona's senior portrait specialist. Although they are no longer taking appointments for on-campus photographs, you can call (877) 363-9690 or visit http://www.classicstudios.net to make your appointment on-line. Their studios are in Fullerton.
Historically, the graduating class presents a gift of lasting value to the campus, to benefit future generations. If you've ever watched the clock on the outside of the Bronco Bookstore while listening to a band in University Park, you've used a class gift. If you've crossed a bridge in the Japanese Garden or sat on a bench there, you've used a class gift. Most bicycle racks on campus are from a class gift, as are the campus carillons you hear chime throughout the day.
The Senior Class Gift is funded by gifts from graduating students and their families. The gift from the Class of 2008 is a study room in the newly renovated library. It will be complete with a color printer, dry erase board as well as a desk and chairs.
