The Collins College's Academic Advisor conducts numerous workshops to address common question students have regarding their academic progress. Students are notified through their Cal Poly Pomona e-mail accounts when and where workshops are being offered.
The Collins College offers a quarterly workshop (excluding summer) with information presented by the Registrar's Office. The information addresses questions regarding academic documents used by the university and housed in the Registrar's Office. These forms and documents include Transfer Credit Reports, Degree Audits and Academic Petitions.
This workshop is held each quarter for students who have signed the 4-Year and 2-Year Graduation Pledge. This workshop is designed to keep students on track in the program and covers a variety of topics, including their Priority Registration Planners. The date for the workshop is determined as information is distributed by the university administration.
The Change of Major Workshop is offered during the third and sixth week of each quarter except summer quarter. In the summer this workshop is held during the fourth week of the quarter.
When students decide to change majors they may contact the Academic Advisor to proceed with paperwork. The required paperwork for changing a major can be obtained in the Student Services Office Building 79B second floor. The university requires a student to have a minimum Cal Poly Pomona 2.0 GPA in order to change majors.
