A federal Bureau of Labor Statistics’ report predicts a steady increase in hospitality-related fields over the course of 20 years. As of 2008, the U.S. restaurant industry employed an estimated 13.1 million people or 9 percent of the U.S. workforce. The restaurant industry is expected to add 2 million jobs over the next decade, according to the National Restaurant Association.
