The Chemistry Department is administratively situated within the College of Science. There are approximately 287 undergraduate majors, approximately 14 graduate students and 15 tenure-track faculty members.

2012 Provost's Award for Teaching
The 2012 Provost's Award for Teaching goes to Dr. Edward Walton. He has gained a national reputation for his innovative teaching methods, especially evident in the chemnistry course he developed for pre-service K-8 teachers. Dr. walton received the College of Science Distinguished Teaching Award in 2006, as well as the Diversity Champion Award in 2007 and 2010.
