Summer Scholarships for Credential Students

The Department of Education has received a special allocation to support teacher recruitment. We have designated the funds to provide tuition scholarships for teacher candidates to complete the prerequisite courses this summer. The purpose of the scholarships is to enable teacher candidates to be fully prepared to enter the credential program in fall 2013 or winter 2014. To assist those who wish to take more than one course during the summer session, the prerequisite courses have been scheduled so that there is no overlap. (See schedule below). Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the priorities listed below until all the funds have been expended.

Welcome Doctoral Program

The Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership at Cal Poly Pomona draws upon the polytechnic philosophy of “learning by doing” through a commitment to supporting leaders who are dynamic scholar-practitioners. Cal Poly Pomona developed its doctoral program in close collaboration with school, district, and community leaders. As a result, it is a unique program focused on producing leaders with a passion for improving the educational process in both under-performing schools and in those that are already succeeding. Designed for educational leaders who are working professionals in P-12 settings, our program provides a cohort-based, rigorous and relevant program preparing graduates to be sources of meaningful change within their organizations. Faculty and mentors support candidates throughout the program and a series of Research Learning Community courses lead to successful program completion and the dissertation
