Dean M.G. (Peggy) Kelly (left) and Dr. Dorthy MacNevin (right), Chair of the Department of Education, welcome Dr. Myriam Casimir (center) at the new faculty orientation. Dr. Casimir has joined the faculty as coordinator of the bilingual credential programs. Dr. Casimir brings a rich set of experiences in the public schools and is an active member of the professional commuinity focusing on equity, access, and second language acquisition strategies. Dr. Casimir joined us from North Carolina where she recently taught in a dual language immersion program. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Casimir!

Activism Through Art

Shelley Bruce, a fourth-year and Ethnic & Women Studies student, has been creating her mark with artwork on campus and across the world. This summer, Political Science Professor Renford Reese helped curate an opportunity at W.E.B. DuBois Center in Accra, Ghana. The center is the home and final resting place of William Edward DuBois. There, Shelley Bruce painted with acrylic a full wall dedicated to the historic icon.
