Commencement 2013

PARTICIPATE! This will be a wonderful celebration of all your hard work and the support of your friends and family.
Ceremony Information
- Graduates and guests should arrive one hour before the ceremony.
- Stop at the registration table on Mansion Lane and University Drive.
- You will be given a card to complete with your name, address, and a reliable email address so that proofs of the pictures taken that day can be sent to you within 48 hours of the ceremony. On the reverse of the card, make sure your name is listed as you prefer to have it called. If it is difficult to pronounce please write it phonetically.
- Hold on to the card – it will be collected as you approach the stage.
- Graduates will congregate at 6:30 pm on the corner of Mansion Lane and University Drive.
- Line up by academic program – banners will indicate where you should stand.
- Faculty members will assist in forming the procession to the graduate seating area.
- When it is time to approach the stage, graduates will be directed to line up along the aisles. Before reaching the stage, graduates will hand their cards to a reader who will announce the graduate.
- Graduates will walk across the stage, receive a certificate, and shake hands with their Department Chair, Dean Kelly, and President Ortiz.
- A professional photographer will capture the moment on film. Proofs will be emailed to you within 48 hours for your consideration.
- You will exit the stage and return to your seat.
- At the end of the ceremony, there will be a procession leaving the stage and seating area. Please follow the directions of the ushers.

Parking
Commencement parking permits are $5.00 pre-paid and $10.00 if purchased on the day of the ceremony. Valid Cal Poly Pomona 2012-13 annual permits and 2013 spring quarter permits will be honored during Commencement weekend. Commencement permits can be purchased at the Information Booth or at any pay station located in all lots. Limousines will be required to have a valid Cal Poly Pomona permit and will park at the Lot C meters. Due to the impact on parking during Commencement weekend, we ask you to follow the signs and park in the designated parking areas as directed by the police and parking officers. For planning purposes please allow 30 minutes to exit campus following the ceremony.

Disabled parking is available in Lot C. Please keep in mind that all vehicles displaying a valid disabled parking decal must also have a valid Cal Poly Pomona permit or Commencement parking decal.

Seating
Guest seating is behind the graduate seating area. There is no reserved seating.
A convenient area has been set-aside for guests with physical challenges.
